Substance Abuse Treatment for the Russian Community Russian offers
a culturally appropriate treatment program for Russian-speaking clients
in the Portland (and Vancouver, WA) Metropolitan Area. The program
provides the same level of learning and competency required of our
other client populations, but is tailored to accommodate the needs
and issues associated with the Russian immigrant population. All treatment
is offered bilingually in Russian and English. |

Treatment. The treatment
approach for substance abuse is founded on evidence-based studies
and combines cognitive behavioral treatment with a strong emphasis
on motivational interviewing. Outpatient treatment is culturally competent
and offered bilingually (Russian and English). |

Counseling. Treatment
includes group sessions as well as individual counseling as required
on a case by case basis. Special importance is placed on skill building
aimed at preventing future substance abuse. Skill building (personal,
social and cultural) therapies focus on relapse prevention include
the understanding and identification of primary risk factors related
to substance abuse. |

Case Management.
Treatment includes case management and referrals to employment readiness
agencies, housing services, mental health counseling, mutual help
groups, psychiatric care and medical care as needed. |
