When
you toss a pebble into a pond,
at the point of contact you cause a change;
a change that ripples out in all directions.
And these waves of change are felt
by whatever else they happen to touch.
This simple image symbolizes both
the vision and responsibility of who we are.

Intensive
Outpatient Program
|
| |
| The ChangePoint
Intensive Outpatient Program is specifically designed to serve clients
with significant diagnosable substance dependence disorders and co-occurring
mental health disorders. Clients in the IOP tend to have more ancillary
needs, which are addressed in treatment, such as housing, employment,
medical and psychiatric issues, domestic violence etc. |
|
Key Elements
of the Intensive Outpatient Program
|
| Treatment.
The treatment approach for intensive outpatient clients is founded
on evidence-based studies and combines cognitive behavioral treatment
with a strong emphasis on motivational interviewing. |
|
 |
| Counseling.
Treatment includes group sessions as well as individual counseling
as required on a case by case basis. |
|
| Prevention Therapy.
The intensive outpatient program places special importance on relapse
prevention. Therapies aimed at relapse prevention include emphasis
on identification and skill building for stress reduction. |
| Case Management.
Treatment includes case management and referrals to employment readiness
agencies, housing services, mental health counseling, psychiatric
care and medical care as needed. |
| Family Education.
In order to provide better support for intensive outpatient clients,
family, partners and other support individuals are offered educational
sessions aimed at helping them understand the addiction process and
the pathways to recovery. |
