When
you toss a pebble into a pond,
at the point of contact you cause a change;
a change that ripples out in all directions.
And these waves of change are felt
by whatever else they happen to touch.
This simple image symbolizes both
the vision and responsibility of who we are.

Employee
Assistance Program
|
| |
| One
of the most pressing problems faced by businesses today is what to
do about a valued employee who suddenly exhibits a severe downturn
in productivity. Symptoms associated with this problem include coming
to work late, taking many days off due to illness, or
being overly depressed or excitable. Any of these symptoms could be
an early warning sign of mental health problems, family disturbance
or alcohol and drug abuse. ChangePoint offers a multi-cultural and
multi-lingual (English, Spanish and Russian) Employee Assistance Program
(EAP) to help in problem identification and resolution. The EAP is
implemented by certified, experienced counselors, who work with clients
in groups, family and individual sessions |

Key Elements
of the Employee Assistance Program
|
 |
|
Treatment.
The treatment approach for substance abuse is founded on evidence-based
studies and combines cognitive behavioral treatment with a strong
emphasis on motivational interviewing. All treatment is culturally
competent and multi-lingual (English, Spanish and Russian). A key
element of the treatment approach is to integrate individual therapy
with family therapies. |
|
Counseling. Treatment
includes group sessions as well as individual counseling as required
on a case by case basis/family situation. The program offers alcohol
and drug education and treatment, tobacco cessation and positive cultural
identification. Special importance is placed on skill building aimed
at preventing future substance abuse. Skill building (personal, social
and cultural) therapies focus on relapse prevention and include the
understanding and identification of primary risk factors related to
substance abuse and its impact on the client, employment, family and
the community. |
| Case Management.
Treatment includes case management and referrals to mental health
counseling, mutual help groups, psychiatric care and medical care
as needed. Progress reports are provided to referring employers including
certification that clients have successfully completed the ChangePoint
treatment program. |
